Transitions

The winter here in Southern New England was kind to us this year. A year ago we were waiting patiently for two feet of snow to melt away. What a difference a year makes, only a couple of medium size storms, and we already hit 75°F this past week and there is no cold weather in sight. Hey any year I don’t have to shovel off the roof is a mild winter in my book!! So I wanted to make a couple of images that captured the transition of winter slowly slipping away into the spring season before everything melted. I think these two images do just that. The dappled sunlight brightening the rocks in the stream, and the icicles hanging on till the bitter end, of Enders Falls in Granby Connecticut.I must say the water was ice cold, as I went in a little deep and the water found its way into my boots. But the air temp was near 70° so it wasn’t all bad.
