Frosted Wheat

Frosted Wheat

I found a giant bowl of frosted wheat in my travels last weekend. My original location to shoot on this morning turned out to be a bust due to cloudy skies. So about 50 miles and and hr later I came across this field on a back road in Litchfield County Connecticut and immediately stopped for a look. The sun was just breaking thru the clouds to warm the landscape a bit and cast some nice shadows on the snow.I composed the shot with a strong foreground leading your eye around the image to the hay rolls on the horizon. And thanks to some high wind the previous day, the snow was sculpted into a natural abstract across the landscape.Ya never know what you will find on a back road in Connecticut.
