A Little Moody

Winter Dreams
Winter Dream

Mother nature provided some great mood lighting with some nice fog that  hung around for most of the day. A light snowfall followed by mild temps did the trick. This grouping of trees is nothing special on any given day, but add the right ingredients and the ordinary becomes something special. Not much done to this image in post processing other than a contrast adjustment and a very very slight blue filter applied. This is another example of my pursuit of minimalism found in nature photography. The day after this photo southern New England is once again in stick season as all the snow has melted.Typical New England, we went from temps in the 50°F to snow then 50°F again, now we are in the deep freeze. It’s 10°F as I write this. The old saying from Redding Connecticut resident Mark Twain “If you don’t like the weather in New England now, just wait a few minutes.” I named this piece Winter Dreams because the fog got so thick at one point that’s what it seemed like, walking around in a dream.
